College Counseling Services

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

As a college preparatory school, First Baptist is strongly committed to helping our high school students with college planning. Every student's path beyond their time at First Baptist School is unique, and we are committed to helping each student map out and achieve their goals. Sheree Bridges, our full-time college counselor, is an invaluable resource for our students and families.

Having a dedicated College Counselor on campus gives our students an amazing resource to discovering which college, major, and path is best for them. Ms. Bridges provides years of guidance and knowledge on the college admissions process and helping our students plan their futures beyond First Baptist School.

As an added resource for our students, we've updated our College Counseling page on the First Baptist website to further help students and parents find the critical information they're looking for when it comes to college planning. There you'll find helpful resources and links such as timelines for each grade level, testing information, and information on the college search and application process.

Our College Counseling services encourage early planning to make sure students are well prepared for life beyond First Baptist School. The FBS Class of 2019 boasts over $5.6 million in scholarships and acceptances from colleges across the US and abroad.

While each student meets with our college counselor every year, our college counseling program offers in-depth college counseling to each senior student. Seniors and their families can expect the college counselor to provide the following services:

  • Facilitate the application process by serving as an advocate for students

  • Provide colleges with complete, accurate information regarding student qualifications

  • Offer support from the beginning to the end of the college and scholarship search processes

  • Educate students and parents about colleges, college admission standards, procedures, and trends

  • Encourage the most comprehensive approach to college selection

  • Maintain unbiased regard for the broadest spectrum of colleges

We strongly encourage our families to meet with Ms. Bridges starting freshman year to take full advantage of our college planning resources. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please send an email to
