Auxiliary Programs
At First Baptist School of Charleston, our auxiliary programs are thoughtfully designed to provide a seamless extension of the school day, offering enriching experiences that engage and inspire students beyond the classroom. These programs are crafted to provide supplementary resources and support that not only enrich the student experience but also promote overall well-being.
Whether it's through creative arts, sports, or academic enhancement, our services are tailored to complement the core academic curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive educational journey. We strive to meet the diverse development needs of our students, fostering an environment where they can explore their interests, build new skills, and grow holistically. Our goal is to nurture well-rounded individuals prepared to succeed in all aspects of life.
Extended Day Program
To assist working parents, First Baptist School offers an Extension Program to Lower School and Middle School families. Children who enroll in the Extension Program will engage in free play, East Bay playground visits, games, and homework time. The Extension Program is housed in 48 Meeting, Carriage House and Middle School buildings.
The Extension Program operates Monday through Friday, beginning the first full day of school and continuing through the last day of school (provided sufficient enrollment is maintained). The hours are from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m. There will be a late fee of $1 per minute beginning at 5:31 p.m. There will be no Extension Program during school holidays.

After school enrichments are available to K4-8th grade students.
Offerings vary each semester and by grade. View our current semester offerings below!
Aftercare is available for students that need to stay beyond the club end time until 5:30 pm. Please be sure to add extended care to your registration if your student will be staying.

Tropical Storms
Join Lauren Benefield and Kristin Epstein for Tropical Storm Cheer, an energetic after-school cheerleading program! Students will learn cheers, dances, and team spirit skills while building confidence and having fun.
This program will be held on Thursdays in the Fellowship Hall at the Downtown campus.

Chess Club
Chess Club introduces students to the game of chess and combines both educational and social activities. Students will get together to play, to learn, to teach, to meet old friends, and to make new ones. Chess Club welcomes students with varied levels of skill, experience, and age. Throughout the semester, students will move through an online course that will introduce the pieces, explain the rules of the game, and teach various check tactics. As the club progresses over the 11 weeks, we will play both leisurely games and speed/clocked games.

Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s adaptability makes it an ideal choice for individuals of diverse abilities and ages. This rapid growing sport has transcended traditional boundaries and has become a symbol of inclusivity and community. The objective of WePickle is to introduce and promote the sport by providing an intro to pickleball class at First Baptist School. The class aims to provide students with a structured recreational activity that promotes physical fitness, social interaction, teamwork, and skill development.

Petit Panache Fashion-Design/Sewing
Calling all future designers! Join Lulu Long and the Petit Panache Fashion team for an exciting after-school Fashion Design & Sewing Enrichment. Students will explore the fundamentals of fashion, design, and sewing in a creative and engaging environment that encourages self-expression.
This hands-on program will begin with basic sewing techniques, including how to use a sewing machine, and progress toward designing and creating original pieces through fun and collaborative projects.

Get ready to cheer! Join Lauren Benefield and Emily Beasley for Middle School Cheer, an after-school program where students will learn cheers, dances, and teamwork skills while building school spirit and confidence.
This program will be held on Tuesdays in the Fellowship Hall at the Downtown campus.

French After School Adventure
Join Mrs. Salters on Mondays for a fun and immersive after-school program where students will explore the beautiful French language and culture in a hands-on, engaging way. Each week, students will learn beginner French through songs, games, and interactive lessons. They’ll also enjoy tasting delicious French snacks, creating simple crafts, and discovering the magic of France’s traditions and famous landmarks.
No experience needed—just a love of learning and a sense of adventure!

The Game Table: Strategy & Skill Games
Love games? Like strategy, teamwork, and a little friendly competition?
Join The Game Table—a weekly club hosted by Justin Donnahoo at First Baptist Church. We’ll play everything from quick games like Tenzi and Skyjo to strategic hits like Wingspan and Marvel Dice Throne.
It’s fun, challenging, and a great way to connect.
This will be held on Thursdays by Pastor Justin Donnahoo who is the Student Minister for First Baptist Church of Charleston. It will be held in the Youth Room in 22 Water Street.
