The First Baptist Athletic Department exists to provide athletic extracurricular opportunities for students in line with the mission of First Baptist School, which emphasizes "Academic Excellence with a Christian Perspective." Our goal is to foster the holistic development of each student-athlete, prioritizing their growth as maturing Christians and improving athletes. To achieve these outcomes, we place a strong emphasis on discipline, building Christian character, and delivering quality sport instruction, competition, and encouragement.

We firmly believe that athletics enhance the overall school experience and that every student-athlete has the potential to improve and contribute to the success of the team as a whole. At First Baptist, we value team success over individual achievements, and we expect our coaches to consistently embody these beliefs through their actions. Our approach to athletics is guided by the principle stated in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," as we strive to bring honor and glory to God in all our endeavors. We believe that athletic participation offers benefits to all students, regardless of their skill level, and we strongly encourage participation from everyone. As a First Baptist athlete, you have the privilege of always representing First Baptist.
In 2 Timothy 4:7, it is written, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." This verse highlights the complete commitment required in engaging in any activity, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. The call to "keep the faith" serves as motivation for our efforts. As student-athletes of First Baptist, we strive to honor God and seek His approval rather than the praise of man.
The First Baptist Athletic Department is dedicated to promoting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ among all student-athletes and equipping them with the skills needed to maintain a high level of performance. We support our student-athletes through motivational coaching and foster an environment that promotes good sportsmanship.
