Updated FBS Covid-19 Processes

Greetings, First Baptist Families!

We are excited about the return of our high school students from virtual learning this week. We are also excited that we have a new face in the First Baptist Family, Nurse Caroline Clum. Nurse Clum is on the high school campus Tuesdays and Thursdays. Nurse Clum has been working with Nurse Lempesis to quickly acclimate to the current processes we have in place to keep our students, families, faculty, and staff safe.

Based on new guidelines from DHEC and the CDC, we have modified some of our current practices and have worked to streamline communication and processes. Please see the below flowchart to ensure that everyone is following the same processes for communication.

Please note that new guidelines have determined temperature checks as an ineffective indicator of recognizing positive Covid-19 cases and are no longer best practice. Due to its ineffectiveness, we will no longer be checking temperatures when students arrive at school. Many of the Covid-19 symptoms are present without a fever. We have found that temperatures have given individuals a false sense of security and that communication from the families has proven most effective. You will still be greeted by someone during drop off where you will be asked how everyone is feeling and that no one is symptomatic. We ask that you please continue to communicate any of the following symptoms with your campus administrator and/or campus nurse via email prior to arriving on campus. Contact information can be found below.
